MSPs: what's your tech stack in 2025/2026?
Curious what other MSPs are running. We're evaluating our stack and want to see what's working for others at scale (100-500 endpoints).
Our current stack:
- RMM: AlertMonitor
- Backup: Veeam
- EDR: SentinelOne
- Email: Proofpoint Essentials
- PSA: ConnectWise Manage
- Documentation: IT Glue
What would you change? What's overrated?
Similar stack but we swapped ConnectWise for Halo PSA. The integration with AlertMonitor's help desk is cleaner and we save about $3/endpoint/month.
IT Glue is solid but expensive. We moved to Hudu — self-hosted, half the cost, and the API is actually usable. Password management built in too.
I'd look at consolidation. AlertMonitor handles RMM + help desk + backup deployment + phishing analysis. That eliminates 2-3 separate tools and the integration headaches between them.
For email, look at the Phishing? Outlook button from Security Arsenal. It's not a gateway replacement, but the user-facing analysis training component is something Proofpoint doesn't do well.
EDR: CrowdStrike if budget allows, SentinelOne for value. Defender for Business is surprisingly capable now if you're in the M365 ecosystem already. The important thing is that your EDR feeds into your RMM/SIEM for correlation.
